We are a brother - sister duo that grew up in Álftanes, Iceland, surrounded by dogs, including Tibetan spaniels, standard poodle and petit brabacon. Our parents bred Afghan hounds but we always wanted an Irish setter. Our first setter came to us in 1995 which was name Hugo. After his death, we had a setter from Cararua kennel, with lines originating in Ireland. He was nicknamed Rjómabarnið „Creambaby“ for his sweet temperament and delicate face. To us he represented all the necessary features of the perfect dog: handsome, playful, sincere; an integral part of the family. Now that we are creating our own families, an Irish setter was the only logical choice to complete our homes.
We are Irish Setter breeders based in Iceland. We are siblings and since we got our first childhood irish setter is has been a dream to get another one. Bubbi has the male, "Íri" imported from Ireland and Viktoría has the bitch "Lúna" imported from Belgium. Our family fell in love with Irish Setters over twenty years ago and we are now taking our first steps as breeders in our hometown of Álftanes, Iceland. We aim to breed beautiful family dogs just like the ones we grew up with.
Guðbjörn and Rebekka now live in nearby Hafnarfjörður with the sweet Afghan hound April (Kingsleah Golden Topaz) and boisterous Íri (Cilleigne Aidair) the Irish setter. Rebekka grew up with Labrador retrievers, and shares Guðbjörn‘s passion for animals. Guðbjörn hunts rock ptarmigan and hopes to take Íri with him in the future.
Viktoría and Stuart live with their two boys in Álftanes and Luna (Trawricka Promises Promises) the Irish Setter. They recently lost their petit brabacon but Luna has helped the family immensely. Viktoría is a FCI judge.
